Where did Easter go?????

Posted by . at 12:19 0 comments
Easter seems to have completely passed me by this year! I had two weddings and three orders to get out for Easter Saturday, so Friday was spent baking and icing, and Saturday was delievering and setting up cakes!!  So Sunday was spent catching up on all things housey, and now it's Easter Monday, and I can't believe it's all over!!!

I've heard from both weddings and everyone was over the moon with their cakies, so it was well worth all the hard work! These are the wedding cupcakes!!!

Not very good at blogging!!!

Posted by . at 07:28 0 comments
Well, what can I say!  This little blog has become a bit neglected! All I can say is that the orders have been coming thick and fast and there just isn't enough hours in the day!  So I've decided that it's time to bring it up to date!

We've done three wedding fayres so far this year, with varying degrees of success! Lots of quotes have been calculated and sent out, now we just have to wait to hear!!!

These were three of a set of 6 horsey cakes that I did that were to be taken on a Hen Weekend.  I didn't want to let them go!! This order was definately a case of my creativity running away with itself, and speaking before I really thought it through, but I have to say I was over the moon with the result!!

Not the best picture in the world, but this has to be my favourite wedding cake so far! It was a dummy cake that I made for the wedding fairs, but I love the pastel colours and how romantic the cake looks.  It was very well received at all of the fayres, let's just hope someone loved it enough to order it!!!!

A wedding, A birthday boy, and last minute 30th cake!

Posted by . at 20:45 0 comments
My eldest turned 11 this weekend (where did that go??) and after a week of much cakeyness, I was hoping he would settle for a nice round cake with 'Happy Birthday', but no, on Thursday evening (his birthday was sunday!!) he decide my design spec would be an army camp, with soldier, quad bike, and stuff!!!  After much humming and arrring, I agreed, and this is what he got!!

Last week was also a wedding week, with a single tier cake adorned with sugar Cala lillies along with 100 iced cookies, bagged and ribboned to match!!!  I always under estimate the time it takes to bag and ribbon the cookies, which could go someway to explaining why Mum and I were caught bagging and labelling the last few cakes as the Bride arrived to collect them!! Far from minding the delay, she rolled up her sleeves and joined in, adding the last few labels.  The finished articles looked lovely, and my bridie was very pleased!

Then the final cake of the week was a last minute request from Kim at Bespoke Flowers, as a little present for two of her friends who were turning the big 3 0.

Tombola Prize for Purple Star Events Shopping and Pamper Evening

Posted by . at 17:01 0 comments
I was asked by Rebekah of  http://www.purplestarevents.com/ if I would donate a prize for the tombola at tonights  Ladies Shopping and Pamper evening that they are holding in Rainham to raise money for Breast Cancer Research, and what better prize than a box of Vanilla Cupcakes with Vanilla Buttercream decorated with little pink sugar ribbons!

The cupcakes look really pretty in their special gift box, with one of my new postcards adorning the front!

I hope the evening goes really well and that you raise loads of money for a great cause!!!
